    Medical support communities that exist over existing communication/social platforms are siloed. For eg: Its impossible for a disaster victim to know there is a medical support group from London reachable through Whatsapp.
    At the same time, creating a new communication platform and asking all victims / responders to onboard it is impossible. It would add to confusion rather than helping the victims

SparrowNet takes messages coming from disaster victims, recognizes the type of help the victim needs and matches the victim to relevant medical experts.
The victim need not be on the same communication platform or in vicinity of the medical expert.
Once a medical expert is matched, messages and media is transferred in an end-to-end secure manner. Conversations are securely stored on Cloud to assure accountability of medical experts.

Project Owl's clusterduck network enables communication during disasters using a LoRa based mesh. Disaster victims can connect to Wifi available through 'ducks' to send information to the world.
SparrowMesh also connects to ducks via BLE to establish link with internet.

We modified Clusterduck to achieve 2 way communication in order to make Sparrow Net accessible through project owl. Ducks (CLusterduck) can easily be made compatible with Sparrow Net by adding few lines of code.

Offline connectivity options


Sparrow app installed
Use Sparrow App to reach global Sparrow Net community and local community present on SparrowMesh.

Every phone with Sparrow App is a node in SparrowMesh.
Messages sent through Sparrow App are sent over the SparrowMesh till they reach a node connected to internet or duck.
Sparrow app not installed
Devices not having Sparrow App can connect to Sparrow Net by access Wifi endpoints made available through ducks and nodes in SparrowMesh.

All ducks and smartphones with Sparrow app create a Wifi network and deliver Sparrow Net web-applets through this Wifi network.
Other devices can access these apps, and data is transferred through SparrowMesh / Clusterduck.

Offline mesh network range

Sparrow Offline Network is combination of LoRa mesh (Clusterduck) and Smartphone based P2P mesh (SparrowMesh).

As we are following Project Owl's LoRa mesh implementation standards, our LoRa network specifications are exactly same as Clusterduck. Clusterduck (LoRa mesh - Wifi connectivity) specifications can be found here.
SparrowMesh is a Adhoc Mesh - Every node has multiple degrees of freedom. This brings in unique benefits of Adhoc networks to SparrowMesh.
SparrowMesh allows a maximum distance of 400m (Wifi), 150m (Bluetooth), 50m (Sound) between 2 nodes.

SparrowMesh implementation is based on AODV protocol.
We conducted detailed research to study and compare the capabilities of AODV with other equivalent protocols.
